Condition & grading standard
"Used" means nothing unless the seller says what was done to the part. This is what each grade means here, and every product page links to it beside the condition badge.
| Grade | What it is | What was done |
|---|---|---|
| New | Factory sealed, never installed. | Seal intact; part number and serial verified against the label. |
| New open box | Unused, packaging opened (inventory verification or a cancelled order). | Visual inspection; serial recorded; tested on request. |
| OEM pull | Removed from a working system during a decommission or upgrade. | Pulled by us or a known source; visual inspection for damage, pin wear and contact condition; serial recorded. |
| Tested pull | An OEM pull that has been through a full memory test. | Full pass on a matching platform (RDIMM/LRDIMM on a server board, UDIMM on desktop) — every cell written and read; SPD read back and matched to the label. |
| Refurbished | A part that needed work — cleaning, contact restoration, relabeling — and then passed the full test. | Everything under Tested pull, plus a note on the quote describing the work. |
What "cosmetic" covers
Pulled modules can show light rack wear: faint contact marks on the edge connector, a scuffed heat spreader, a residue mark from a label. None of that affects function and none of it is disclosed as damage. Bent pins, cracked PCBs, corrosion or heat damage are never sold under any grade.
Serial numbers
You receive the serial numbers of the exact modules before they ship. Returns and warranty claims are matched against those serials.
Warranty
1-year warranty included on every grade; 3-year extended warranty available. See warranty & cross-ship.
